TRiBE organizes party in Chicago to support PrinceJron next week

Traxman, DJ Twan, EQ Why, DJ Chad, and more are set to DJ the event.

Chicago collective TRiBE is organizing an event to raise funds for footworker PrinceJron, real name Jaron Boyd, and his family following a devastating house fire.

On Saturday, December 7th, the Chicago footwork community is coming together for “The Revival,” which will feature DJ sets by Traxman, DJ Twan, EQ Why, DJ Chad, and more. Artist and dancer MB03 will also be performing. Footwork battles will take place throughout the night with a $250 cash prize. Attendees are encouraged to donate $10 for entry. All proceeds will go toward assisting the Boyd family.

“Jaron has been a prominent member of the footwork culture through his dance skills, leadership, and kind heart,” TRiBE founder Rashad Rebel Harris wrote on Instagram. “Jaron has also contributed to the culture as an archivist through his acts of collecting videos, photos, and other iconic footwork [and] juke memorabilia”

In October, PrinceJron’s house was affected by a neighborhood fire that burned down six homes. Chicago footwork pioneer DJ Clent curated a compilation the same weekend to help collect contributions that will assist PrinceJron and his family in securing new residences and other urgent essentials.
