Suzi Analogue is one of this year’s speakers for Harvard’s “A Black History of Electronic Dance Music” lecture series.

Last Thursday, November 7th, the Never Normal Records label boss gave a talk on “Mapping Black Club Music Ecologies” for the second season of the program. Students learned about the sonic origins of club music, physical and geopolitical impact of the genre, and survival of house legends. The course was one of three in this series’ run. Last month, artist-scholar madison moore led “A Critical Cabaret,” which also included a performance element. Juliana Huxtable will complete the season with a lecture on December 3rd.

“This is just the beginning of this research dialogue,” Suzi Analogue wrote on Instagram. “Stay tuned for more as I grow and thank you for everyone’s support, for real.”

In 2022, Suzi Analogue was appointed to the music faculty at University of North Carolina as a Teaching Assistant Professor of Music. She teaches classes on beatmaking, hip-hop, and more.
