nextdimensional, a producer and DJ residing in Brooklyn, is starting a new music label.

Announced via an Instagram post on Wednesday, January 29th, STARRY will focus on emerging electronic and dance music producers who are “sonically fearless, refuse to let the industry put them in a box, and have a genuine love and respect for the music.” The imprint’s first artist is Philly Club mainstay JEWELSSEA, who will christen the catalog with its debut release. The single, “If You Don’t Drop Dis… Wyd?!,” is due out digitally on Wednesday, February 5th.

“I have always been a huge believer in DIY culture, which impacts everything I touch as a music artist,” nextdimensional wrote in the social media statement. “No waiting around for co-signs or industry accolades. Just create freely, make it happen, help others.” These personal and artistic values are what inspired her to create STARRY, she added.

After moving to Brooklyn from Minneapolis in 2018, nextdimensional has become a prominent contributor to New York City’s local electronic music scene. She currently creative produces a party called Lucid Dream and co-runs Lucid Radio, a visual mix series.
